Mining and Gathering are an essential part of Wind Slayer. You will use these invaluable skills to obtain
materials for Refining, Composition, and Forging.
To learn the gathering skill, go to Popola and accept the Let’s Learn Gathering quest from Rona. She needs 5 Herbs and 5 Blue Mushrooms from monsters in the surrounding area. Complete the quest to learn Gathering!
Gathering takes place inside Herbal Farms, which are located in Marble Mountain, Amakusa, and Seren Meadows. To enter an Herb Farm, stand on the entrance portal and press the down arrow.
Gathering requires Crude Garden Shovels, available from merchants like the Frog Merchant in Popola. Each gathering attempt consumes one of these Garden Shovels, so make sure to buy several of them at a time.
Once inside an Herbal Farm, stand in front of a common herb and an animation will appear over your character's head. Open your inventory (press “I”) and double click the Crude Garden Shovel to use it.
Gathered items are automatically added to your inventory. Remember, not all attempts are successful.
Talk to Gangdalf in Popola and accept the Let's Learn Mining quest. Gangdalf needs 2 pieces of wood, obtained using the gathering skill (above). Try visiting the Herbal Farm in Marble Mountain.
Complete the quest to learn mining!
